Rattus Rattus

Profile Image of Rattus Rattus

Full Name: Rattus Rattus

Details: After escaping the boredom of the petshop by climbing up the bars and out of his cage. Rattus spent the next couple of years wandering around the sewers eating out of rubbish bags before finally setting up home in the dank corner of an old meat market. Later that evening his new home Fabric came to life, his rodent skeleton was almost shook apart by bass weight and he ended up in one of the bins drinking unfinished stellas. Now he spends his time in clubs up and down the country and europe supplying every kind of bass heavy sound he can lay his claws on.

    T-BASS BUSINESS

    Mar 10 2010

    // Blog

    The one myself and KLOSE ONE (ATG, Urban Nerds) have been waiting for is finally upon us. As we bring together three of Dubsteps finest new talents… All emerging last year and now on full rotation by all the big names, they have begun to gig all over the shop.

    So before someone else did we thought we’d get them down to play some true heavy BASSWEIGHT on a system that is seriously up for the pressure.. and whats more as usual its all for FREE FREE FREE

    T-Bar presents T-Bass (18 – 22 Houndsditch, London, EC3A 7LP) 9pm-3am 11/03/10

    FREE —>
    FLUX PAVILION (Circus records)

    Releasing tune after tune he’s literally unstopable at the moment. Every one more bass heavy than the last and with a distinctive 4×4 edge he never fails to get the crowd going mental. In fact when myself and Klose dropped MEATHEAD at an over 16 rave i’m pretty sure a couple of ladies may have had their virginity taken by the raw bass!

    FREE —> JAYOU (Mad Decent)

    After coming across his Day N Nite remix his tunes have always been on our regular rotation, and it wasnt long before everyone was on his dick! Leading to the enevitable sign-up to Diplo’s global bass mafia Mad Decent. He’s so hardcore i’ve seen him rock a capacity crowd, then make them all sit down to take a breather, as the track dropped again everyone went mental! He is a must see.

    FREE —> NOISSES (Equalisers, ATG)

    After releasing End Of and James Bond he was quickly DJ’ing all over the place under this latest re-incarnation. But don’t be fooled this guy has been around rocking crowds all over europe for a while under so many successful suedenoms I can’t keep up! We’ve finally managed to tie him down to his Dubstep alter-ego long enough to treat you to a massive set of sublime bangers. Like his new track remixing Olive’s You’re Not Alone (which you can download for FREE HERE).

    FREE —> KLOSE ONE (ATG, Urban Nerds)

    He’s so tall many clubs refuse him entry. Luckily with T-Bar’s extra height ceilings and specially modified DJ booth this is the only place you can really see the mighty Klose One standing at his true length.

    FREE —> RATTUS RATTUS (Urban Nerds, ATG)

    How many times do you get to heckle me for free. Why pay £5 to hurl abuse when you can do it at and have money for a beer. Nice.

    ON A SERIOUS NOTE IF YOU HAVE YET TO CHECK OUT THIS SYSTEM THEN THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO SAMPLE IT AT ITS MOST BASSIEST!!

    TOMBS & DEVILS BUT IT’S MORE LIKE CHRISTMAS

    Mar 08 2010

    // Blog

    Shortly after meeting the six man strong TOMB CREW some years ago I quickly realised they weren’t the Emo Goth band that i’d suspected… And after they began to DJ I realised that they definately were alot!

    Now slimed down to two DJ’s and joined by MC ILLAMAN they have continued to smash apart raves all over the world, in fact if you haven’t seen them DJ yet I would question whether you should maybe get out more ;) … However probably they’re greatest achievement is being one of the few new artists who have managed to build a successful career out of just being great DJ’s and party starters. Case in point their mix for DEVIATE below –>

    Now successfully cemented as essential acts to book if you want your rave to be well and truely rocked. They have spent the past months stretching their production muscles. I’m sure many people will be familiar with TOMB CREW’s edit of EASTERN JAM (aptly named WESTERN JAM download for free here). Well now they have a slew of sensational releases under they’re belts including remixes for CROOKERS (download for free here) and MARCO DEL HORNO (listen and buy here).

    The latest bass monster has come via a remix of DROP THE LIME’s latest release Devils Eyes which is literally sensational –>

    You can buy this badboy remix and the rest of the release from HERE so go and support your local goths! :D

    THE END OF THE DECADE!!!

    Dec 26 2009

    // Blog

    So it’s the end of the decade (well some people argue thats not till next year but whatever ;) ) and the gents at CHEW THE FAT asked a few Dj mates to put together some mixes. They are all very good and definately worth checking out over one the CHEW THE FAT BLOG where they are being released daily. Highlights being PIRATE SOUNDSYSTEM’S, HOSTAGE’S and LAST JAPAN’S (which has a stella tracklist!)

    Here’s my offering—>

    If you want to download it you can for free from HERE

    As every DJ was going to throw together a real big track list. I thought I’d do something a bit different and take tracks that have highlighted and punctuated the last ten years for me personally and career wise.

    1. Love Locked The Siren Down – Hard House Banton Vs Kanye West (Rattus Rattus Bootleg)
    Out of all my edits and bootlegs I’ve made this one always gets the biggest reaction… and i get to cheat and have two tracks!

    2. Could This Be Real – Sub Focus
    Had to put a little nod in to what is gonna be in my opinion one of the biggest dance tracks of next year ;)

    3. Deep Throat – Claude Von Stroke
    I was about two years late on this track (due to being such a Garage head!) but the first time I heard it dropped by the man himself I literally went a bit mental… I believe shortly after I was ejected from the club!

    4. Fake Tales Of San Fransisco – Arctic Monkeys
    Every time I hear this track it makes me think of all the assholes and people who chat shit that I meet on a daily basis. Please from now on can you all not bother talking to me! :D

    5. Good Old Days – Mercston Ft Ghetto
    When James from Urban Nerds booked me for their first rave he said make sure you play ‘Good Old Days’. Taking it as a joke I thought nothing of it until 40 minutes into my set he came bounding over saying when are you going to play ‘Good Old Days’? So for fear of getting in trouble I thought best put this on.

    6. Bullacake – D’Explicit
    This may officially be the only Bassline track you can play anywhere that never fails to make people go nuts! :S

    7. Gotta Get Thru This – Daniel Bedingfield
    After my first girlfriend broke up with me I remember going out and hearing this song for the first time… I’m sure it was supposed to fill me full of determination and make me feel better…. It didn’t it still makes me want to poke her eyes out with a pencil.

    8. Rhythm & Gash – Rebound X
    To date I have accidently elbowed two people in the face, spilled countless drinks and ruined a relationship dancing to this tune… I wouldn’t stand next to me when it’s played!

    9. Warning – Skream (D1 Remix)
    Still one of my favourite chilled out Dubstep tunes.

    10. What Have You Done – DJ Wonder Ft Kano
    This was the first Dubstep(ish) record I bought and really turned me from a Grime DJ to Dj’ing a whole variety of other genres… I’m pretty sure i only bought it originally because Kano was on it!

    And as if that wasn’t enough with the TICKETS almost sold out i’m about to explode with excitment for URBAN NERDS Vs ATG’S new years eve party. If you haven’t got your TICKETS I’d hurry up so you catch all of these badman performers —>

    LEEDS + MAJOR LAZER = ?

    Dec 03 2009

    // Blog

    So this weekend MAJOR LAZER was over on our shores and mashing up Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds in true Future Dancehall style.

    Myself and KLOSE ONE had the privilege of playing BIGGER THAN BARRY’S Leeds party at the sensational MINT CLUB… Touching down in Leeds it was clear that this rave was going to be immense as a cue of eager ravers had already begun an hour before doors were even open!

    CUT & PASTE warmed the capacity crowd nicely and all to soon it was our time to step up to the decks…

    With the crowd behind us from the start we couldn’t help but love every minute of the set dropping every genre we could get our hands on. Leading to Klose dropping APPLAUSE RIDDIM and the SEAN PAUL vocal before mixing it with THE RAVEN by PROXY

    Which led to Diplo tweeting this –> “Wow leeds is deeeeeeeep tonight! Openin djs goin from applause riddim to proxy? like its not a ting!” :D … Then the man himself stepped up to the decks. With his dancing girls jumping up onto the booth for a good dancing spot! The crowd went nuts as he literally smashed the place apart MAJOR LAZER style. Mixing from Reggae to Electro to Jungle to Dubstep and back again… I was so hyped i went raving but here’s a glimpse of the start of his set ;)

    At this point my ability to record video vanished and my raving heart took over! DOORLY was next to step up and sent the crowd into frenzy… Personal highlight was the dropping of THE XX’s remix of FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE’S You’ve Got The Love and the inevitable crowd sing-along.

    Finally JAYOU took to the decks and treated the crowd to so much bassweight that half way through the MC forced everyone to sit down (which they did!) while the intro to Jayou’s WESTERN JAM was bubbling in the background… Though it didn’t last for long as the track dropped the 400+ crowd jumped into the air to continued raving!!!

    A truely fantastic night and definately the highlight of my DJ career so far… Lesson to be learned when MAJOR LAZER is next in town get a ticket!!
