THE END OF THE DECADE!!!

Dec 26 2009 // Rattus Rattus // Blog

So it’s the end of the decade (well some people argue thats not till next year but whatever ;) ) and the gents at CHEW THE FAT asked a few Dj mates to put together some mixes. They are all very good and definately worth checking out over one the CHEW THE FAT BLOG where they are being released daily. Highlights being PIRATE SOUNDSYSTEM’S, HOSTAGE’S and LAST JAPAN’S (which has a stella tracklist!)

Here’s my offering—>

Rattus Rattus – End Of Decade Mix by Thefatclub on Mixcloud

If you want to download it you can for free from HERE

As every DJ was going to throw together a real big track list. I thought I’d do something a bit different and take tracks that have highlighted and punctuated the last ten years for me personally and career wise.

1. Love Locked The Siren Down – Hard House Banton Vs Kanye West (Rattus Rattus Bootleg)
Out of all my edits and bootlegs I’ve made this one always gets the biggest reaction… and i get to cheat and have two tracks!

2. Could This Be Real – Sub Focus
Had to put a little nod in to what is gonna be in my opinion one of the biggest dance tracks of next year ;)

3. Deep Throat – Claude Von Stroke
I was about two years late on this track (due to being such a Garage head!) but the first time I heard it dropped by the man himself I literally went a bit mental… I believe shortly after I was ejected from the club!

4. Fake Tales Of San Fransisco – Arctic Monkeys
Every time I hear this track it makes me think of all the assholes and people who chat shit that I meet on a daily basis. Please from now on can you all not bother talking to me! :D

5. Good Old Days – Mercston Ft Ghetto
When James from Urban Nerds booked me for their first rave he said make sure you play ‘Good Old Days’. Taking it as a joke I thought nothing of it until 40 minutes into my set he came bounding over saying when are you going to play ‘Good Old Days’? So for fear of getting in trouble I thought best put this on.

6. Bullacake – D’Explicit
This may officially be the only Bassline track you can play anywhere that never fails to make people go nuts! :S

7. Gotta Get Thru This – Daniel Bedingfield
After my first girlfriend broke up with me I remember going out and hearing this song for the first time… I’m sure it was supposed to fill me full of determination and make me feel better…. It didn’t it still makes me want to poke her eyes out with a pencil.

8. Rhythm & Gash – Rebound X
To date I have accidently elbowed two people in the face, spilled countless drinks and ruined a relationship dancing to this tune… I wouldn’t stand next to me when it’s played!

9. Warning – Skream (D1 Remix)
Still one of my favourite chilled out Dubstep tunes.

10. What Have You Done – DJ Wonder Ft Kano
This was the first Dubstep(ish) record I bought and really turned me from a Grime DJ to Dj’ing a whole variety of other genres… I’m pretty sure i only bought it originally because Kano was on it!

And as if that wasn’t enough with the TICKETS almost sold out i’m about to explode with excitment for URBAN NERDS Vs ATG’S new years eve party. If you haven’t got your TICKETS I’d hurry up so you catch all of these badman performers —>

Dear Christian Audigier…Suck Out!

Dec 17 2009 // Loukia-C // Blog

When bad press releases happen to good people:

“With the new Ed Hardy store opening in London’s Westfield this week, Ed Hardy designs are proving to be more popular than ever!

Just like our clothing, office decor should be forward thinking, comfortable, personal, and above all… fashionable! We use it every day, so why not indulge in a little luxury with these fabulous ‘Tattoo Mice’ and ‘Tatoo Mouse Pads’ by Ed Hardy Computer Supplies.

These are part of a new, stylish range of computer accessories, designed for both men and women. They not only feature top of the range technology but look ultra sleek. It’s the gift of kudos that the designers at Ed Hardy have a knack for.”

25 Pictures, Images and Photos

(Just to remind us what we’re dealing with here…)

Translation:

“DENIAL ain’t just a river in Egypt.

And we at (d)E(a)D Hardy are currently wallowing in the stuff. Our failure to accept that our brand is more than over has led us to have opened a new store in the longest shopping centre of them all…Westfields.

We’re really gutted that Skepta is no longer backing us. You’d think that having the very greasy Peter Andre as the new face would have bumped our sales up but it hasn’t (because sexy grime MCs beat warbling r&b stars any day), so in turn we decided to release a range of office accessories in the hope of bringing in more P. Yes. OFFICE ACCESSORIES.

Just like our clothing range, the office decor is hideous, chavvy and is best avoided by people with epilepsy or migraine tendancies because its so visually disorientating. We currently have tattoo mouse pads and tattoo mice, but who knows, if times get really hard maybe we’ll release tattoo paper shredders and tattoo desks too. Don’t believe us? Take a look:

They are part of a range designed for men and women – that’s why some bits are pink and other bits are blue, duh. They also use ‘top of the range technology’ (probably not) as well as looking extra…sleek. And by sleek we mean butters. It’s the gift of desperation that the designers at Ed Hardy have the knack for.

We use the range everyday (because it’s free and we have to), so why not indulge in a little Ed Hardy for your office too, and help us beat the credit crunch…”

On that note:

Dear Christian Audigier,

Suck Out! Stop opening new stores, stop sending us press releases, stop designing office accessories and you know what,  stop desiging clothes.
