The Hot 110 team were out on the town for the Trainerspotter party and Mz Bratt video shoot. Lady V reports…

Collaborators since the launch of Hot110, Trainerspotter, hosted a very hot party in Size’s flagship store in Carnaby street last Wednesday…and of course we weren’t going to miss this one!

Hot garms + boom trainers + good tunes + free beer = VERY FUN MIDWEEK PARTY!

The reason for such an event was the launch of Trainerspotter’s t-shirt design which pays homage to Spike Lee’s seminal 1989 film ‘Do The Right Thing’. It’s been twenty years since we saw Radio Raheem flex the famous Love/Hate knuckle rings, and in homage, and just because, well it looks pretty darn cool, Trainerspotter came up with this (right)…

This Trainerspotter design is exclusive to SIZE?, so why not have a party to celebrate this IN Size??! On entering the store, everything Trainerspotter was on show, and live music was provided too…linking with Lee’s ‘Do the Right Thing’, The Dixon Brothers were dropping old-skool classic hip-hop joints. We were also treated to a performance by new-to-the-scene Mc Speech Debelle, who we personally rate and recommend in a big big way! She performed her mixture of heart-felt, and hilariously true to life lyrics, with a live full on band backing the miniture songstress.
Oh, and there was also a free raffle to win some hot Trainerspotter goodies, including a set of the gold Trainerspotter knuckle rings…how we wish we’d won! Imagine rocking those badboys!

Many thanks to Trainerspotter, it was a great night!

But that wasn’t the end, we carried on with our midweek a-mingling, and after notifying you the day before that Mz.Bratt was filming a video for her debut tune ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ down in Ladbroke Grove, that’s where we bopped to next.

Under the Westway was the location of the video and we arrived to see Mz Bratt looking very sexy in black lyrca performing on stage to a large crowd of fans/extras. They provided a very good representation of the vibes taking place in the current funky scene…rudeboys with their bashy trainers and New Era caps swooning over the buff ladies in high heels and tight garms, shaking their thangs to Mz Bratt’s undeniably catchy chorus ‘Who do you think you are? Pulling on my hair?’ That’s deep lyrical content there!

Of course, in true funky/grime music video stylee, the UK music scene were out in force and representing, making sure that their faces featured in this starlet topped for big thing’s debut.

As the night went on, the party vibes continued through to morning and got sexier as the Ugly Kids Club boys rolled through and got involved with bodyart! But with a backdrop of graff, ‘hot property status’ Mz.Bratt (her own words!), a big table covered with free biscuits (’refreshments’) and yes, even, fire…what a set! What a night! Now we just need to keep locked on AKA and Mtv Base to see if WE made the video…

Did you make it down to the shoot?  Let us know!
