Rattus Rattus takes a look at the Crack House EP and why Zinc’s ahead of the pack…

This morning my friendly postman handed me a package which inside contained a Crack House T-shirt… Now I not only wanted a T because it looks fecking cool… but to support what has been a truely inspirational EP release for me.

For those of you who have somehow missed this fantastic jem (named as the Crack House EP) from badman DJ and Producer Zinc you can pick it up from all the normal stockists (but as i like Juno heres some links for them)

Zinc has without a doubt managed to engineer a new sound within the house scene and the effects are definitely contagious, as a lot of producers have begun to make this ilk of house themselves… However for me the reason why this EP is so good is not because he has re-engineered house but because this isn’t the first time he’s reinvigorated or reinvented a genre.

These are just a few choice tracks (but by no means all of his seminal releases) that for me highlight and reinforce in my opinion why Zinc is not only one of the best producers out there at the moment… But why he is one of the best dance music producers full stop…

So as an end to this post make sure you go cop the CRACK HOUSE EP as its probably the best thing you’ll have done in a long time!!
